Charlotte Bass

Executive Director and Lead Instructor
Involved In Therapeutic Riding For 15 Years
Charlotte has had a love of children and horses for as long as she could remember-therapeutic riding allows her to combine both of these passions to keep putting smiles in saddles! She began riding at the age of 3 and soon started competing but when finances got in the way, she looked for other ways to involve horses in her life. At age 15, she started volunteering at a local therapeutic riding program and she was hooked. At 18, she took her high school graduation money to become PATH certified. Since 2010, Charlotte has continued to teach at multiple therapeutic riding centers in the Metro-Detroit area. She has also worked along side additional non-profits such as volunteering at Detroit Horse Power and spending many years as an Equine Therapist for Camp Casey (bringing horses to the houses of kids with cancer.)

In 2020, after the COVID pandemic where life got flipped upside down, Charlotte knew that she had a mission greater than what she was currently doing. She knew she could do more. Starz Equestrian Center was born and hit the ground running!

Charlotte is PATH Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor, Certified in Equine Assisted Learning, Safe Sport certified from USEF, CPR/First Aid/AED Certified, and is working on her Equine Assisted Mental Health certification. She also holds a degree from the University of Michigan and works as a Newborn Care Specialist outside of the barn.
